Matthew Guggemos - drums

Matthew Guggemos is a drummer originally from Lansing, MI. He studied music at Michigan State University where he was enrolled in the jazz studies program. As a student at MSU and a professional drummer in the Lansing and Detroit areas, Matthew played with such esteemed artists as bassist Rodney Whitaker, trumpeter Marcus Belgrave, saxophonist Branford Marsalis, saxophonist Benny Carter, and bassist Ralph Armstrong. As a California resident, Matthew has played with saxophonist Andrew Speight, pianist Larry Vuckovich, saxophonist Eric Alexander, guitarist Muriel Anderson, guitar duo Tierra Negra, and bassist Ariane Cap, among others. When he’s not playing or teaching drums, Matthew works as a speech-language pathologist, who specializes in working with individuals on the autism spectrum.
